Foo Fighters at Stubbs last night.
So far I’ve gotten pretty lucky with the live music while in Austin, and I hope my luck will hold out for two more nights. Saw a fantastic band from New Orleans at the PBS event the other night, Zynga had TV On The Radio (though sound quality in the concrete box where they had their event was pretty awful. And the discordant Sleigh Bells opened, damaging my hearing permanently I am sure). Last night, Foo Fighters killed it at the interactive closing party. Today, Casio Kids played in a ballroom turned music lounge. I’d never heard of them before, but they were fantastic.
On deck for tonight, Ted Leo/Flogging Molly/Queens of the Stone Age - not at the same venue, of course. Why make it easy?
During the day, the talks & panels have all been pretty interesting (more luck - the overwhelming SX schedule can often lead to missteps). I’ve written about them here and here.
