Thinking of my mom today - her influence over my work ethic, sense of style (hers is impeccable, mine not so much), and the fact that she gave me the freedom to be who I wanted to be despite my, er, years of teenage rebellion.
From a young age, she made sure that my brother and I did not stay put. She didn’t keep us hostage in our house or yard, fearful of what the world might do to us - instead, she put us in the car, on trains and planes, trusting that we would figure it out.
She instilled a fearlessness that allows me to travel anywhere, always with curiosity and excitement. I will be forever grateful to my mom who took the time to show me the world.
