I say this every summer. I don’t even care where we go, we just need to go. We’ll leave early in the morning, head down roads we don’t know, and pull over to view America’s oddities like the giant peach in Georgia (sadly blown down by a storm since we were last there). We’ll drive for too many hours, get punch drunk on iced tea and odd billboard signs, make promises we’ll never keep and place bets we’ll never win. We’ll remember that the road is the best way to really see the country, and that it’s a pretty amazing place. (This post is dedicated to all the friends I used to road trip with. It’s been too long.)
